Lucy Siegle
Lucy Siegle is a writer, broadcaster, public speaker and specialist in communications for environmental progress who has been at the heart of contemporary conservation and environmentalism for two decades. As a reporter and presenter on BBC1's The One Show alongside newspaper journalism, she is credited with mainstreaming action on plastic and the quest to make fashion a cleaner, fairer industry. She has also fronted TV exposes on plastic recycling and campaigned to make greener living fairer and affordable. She is a trusted voice on contested issues.
She is author of five books including To Die For: Is Fashion Wearing out the World? (Harper Collins 2011, nominated for the Orwell prize) and Turning the Tide on Plastic: How Humanity (and you) Can Make Our Globe Clean Again (Orion). She co-produced and stars in the Netflix hit documentary, The True Cost.
An accomplished live performer and champion of net zero business and policy, Lucy is in
demand as a host, chair and keynote speaker, known for her mix of pragmatism, honesty and optimism. She has vast experience in communications and campaigns. If something doesn’t exist, Lucy will create it! For example Lucy co-founded the Green Carpet Challenge with Livia Firth, working with designers from Armani to Stella McCartney and A-list talent.
Lucy also deploys her talents for others. She is a professional speech writer for major high level nature and climate events, including COPs. A true team-players, Lucy is also an experienced programmer and facilitator working with UN agencies and talent managers to get A-listers, royalty and senior politicians on expeditions and campaigns. Lucy is a trustee for Surfers Against Sewage and an ambassador for WWF UK and The Circle.
