Grant Rutherford is Chief Technology Officer at Component Sense, an electronic component re-distributor providing sustainable solutions to tier-one electronic manufacturers.

Grant joined Component Sense whilst completing a degree in Business Studies with Computer Science at the University of Stirling, Scotland. Since then, Grant has played a pivotal role in the growth of Component Sense. Now a company Director and CTO, Grant drives considered and meaningful change in the electronics industry. His goal is to make electronic component redistribution easy with forward-thinking automation, bespoke systems, and customer-centric tools.

During his almost twenty years in the electronics industry, Grant has experienced first-hand the market cycles and changes as our world becomes increasingly dependent on electronics and digitalisation. He has lead Component Sense and its clients through such times with a deep knowledge of supply chain shortages, commodity oversupply, and lean business practices.

Grant is passionate about company culture, team development, and sustainable business transformation. He will focus on secondary market procurement, inventory management, and the reduction of e-waste — all key strategies for driving positive environmental and business impact.
