Aidan O'Sullivan
Aidan O’Sullivan is a pioneer in the application of AI to decarbonisation challenges. He is Founder and CTO of Carbon Re an industrial AI company that has raised £9 million to decarbonise the cement industry using AI. He is Associate Professor in Energy and Artificial Intelligence at UCL Energy Institute where he leads the Energy Systems and Artificial Intelligence Lab. He has been a fellow at the Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s Centre for AI Research, for more than 4 years, and is Programme Committee Chair in AI and Climate Change at the International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of UNESCO.
Aidan has a PhD from the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University College Cork. Prior to taking up his position at UCL, he worked as a postdoc at MIT in the Civil Engineering department.
